The analysis of form fillability with a polymeric material

We offer you an opportunity to analyse the geometry of your product or design of the running system of a casting die from the point of its fillability with a polymeric material at the design stage, to predict possible defects of products, and to choose the most economic decisions.

The analysis is carried out by means of Moldflow package - recognized leader among software packages for numerical modelling of hydrodynamics and heat/mass exchange processes. Moldflow is applied for modelling of casting processes, forms filling with simultaneous cooling of a material flow, shrinkage and formation of blowholes and porosity. It helps to predict precisely and remove at the design stage places of possible cold laps, formations of blowholes, microporosity, and to lower to the minimum the influence of shrinkage. At the design stage it also helps to analyse and optimise the ways of material supply, design and parameters of the running system.

During the analysis of injection at any time we can receive graphic allocation of all major melting parameters (temperatures, pressure, tension, rates of shifts, thickness of a stiffened boundary layer, viscosity, etc.), determining the quality of a product. The results of the analysis also include dependences of melting parameters on time, structures of parameters according to the section of the moulding channel, level-by-level allocations of parameters. We determine the position of cold lap lines, air traps, and misruns; we warn about the emersion of spews, failure of a stream and other problems. On the basis of the criteria system we make a conclusion about acceptability of a design and moulding conditions, and also about measures which should be undertaken in order to eliminate the revealed problems.

The processes of a volumetric shrinkage and compacting of a polymer are modelled, and strincages are calculated at the analysis of pressure and cooling holdings. The calculation of a volumetric shrincage is carried out on the basis of PVT-diagrams that are in Moldflow.

All kinds of the analysis can be carried out for a concrete or standard moulding machine. During the analysis for a concrete moulding machine the characteristics of the machine and features of its control system are taken into account. It helps to fix the designed technological mode of moulding at the tests of a casting die.
